Plans to see off the summer in Valencia

August still has plenty to offer in Valencia. If you’re visiting the city during the second half of the month, you’ll find something to suit every taste: open-air cinema, major concerts, local festivals and some of the province’s best-known events.

One of the best ways to enjoy summer evenings is the Filmoteca d’Estiu, which runs until 29 August in the gardens of the Palau de la Música. This year, as part of the ‘Un río de cine’ programme, a selection of films are being screened outdoors, transforming the garden into an open-air cinema under the stars. It’s the perfect way to spend a quiet and unique evening right in the heart of Valencia.

For music lovers, 20 August brings one of the month’s standout concerts: Judas Priest are set to perform at the Roig Arena. The legendary British heavy metal band are stopping off in Valencia – a great opportunity to combine a city break with a night of live music.

If you’d like to experience one of Valencia’s most international festivals, make a note of another date: 26 August. On that Wednesday, Buñol will host La Tomatina 2026, the famous tomato fight that transforms the town’s streets for a few hours. Places are limited, so it’s advisable to buy your ticket in advance and organise your journey from Valencia.

You can also make the most of the last few days of the month to rediscover some of Valencia’s summer classics: round off the afternoon by the Mediterranean, cycle through the Turia Gardens, visit the City of Arts and Sciences at sunset, or find a terrace where you can enjoy a leisurely dinner.

And after a day packed with plans, Original Domino House can be your starting point and base as you continue to explore Valencia.
